Space is the machine: a configurational theory of architecture by Bill Hillier and The Social Logic of Space by Bill Hillier and Julienne Hanson, are the foundational texts of the Space Syntax approach.

The Journal of Space Syntax welcomes high quality academic papers that report previously unpublished findings from cutting edge research into space, society and the design of the built environment. The journal focuses on issues relevant to architecture, urbanism and the social sciences and draws on a wide range of scientific theories, analytic research methods and configurational approaches to the study of space, architectural and urban form and societies, including, but not restricted to, space syntax.

UCL Eprints provides open access to a large number of academic research papers.

Various presentations by Space Syntax staff members are available for viewing and downloading through SlideBoom.
